18.6.2019 — On the 19th of June, Czech Philharmonic's open-air concert will take place in the breath-taking atmosphere of Prague's Hradčanské Square. The concert is one of the most attractive events of the music season.

25.2.2020 — A brand-new film festival is coming to Prague. The first annual independent Indian film festival, 'INDIE-INDIA', will take place in the Pilotů Cinema on the 28th and 29th of February.

16.2.2020 — The City of Prague Museum has prepared a traditional carnival at Ctěnice Chateau on the 16th of February. As usual, besides feasting, you can enjoy a varied programme that will attract and delight all age groups.

19.10.2020 — A barrier-free entrance to Prague Botanical Garden was opened in the southern part of St. Claire's Vineyard at the end of September. The garden had been planning to build a new entrance for several years, and their waiting has finally paid off. From now on, visitors can comfortably enter St. Claire's Vineyard directly from Trojská Street, at the intersection between the vineyard walls and Troja Château, where the Kovárna bus stop is conveniently situated.

20.8.2019 — A racing afternoon in Prague - Velká Chuchle Racecourse is one of the many weekend activities on in the Czech capital. Now, you can see not only racing, but also show jumping. And between the 23rd and 25th of August, you can come to watch ladies' polo.

10.12.2019 — Leave the hustle and bustle of Christmas behind you and enjoy the wonderful sounds of the Bruncvík choir. The ensemble's rich repertoire and high-quality performances will definitely surprise you. Their concerts will take place on the 11th of December at Wenceslas Square and on the 15th of December in Hlahol on the Masaryk Embankment in Prague.

28.2.2020 — The Czech Museum of Music, which is part of the National Museum, is hosting an exhibition on the famous opera singer Karel Burian until the 2nd of March.

10.12.2021 — Dlouho očekávaný projekt výstavby lávky HolKa usnadní přesun pěším i cyklistům mezi dvěma dynamicky se rozvíjejícími pražskými čtvrtěmi. Zároveň aktivuje vznik navazujících projektů hlavního města a soukromého investora CA Immo, které přispějí k zatraktivnění vltavského nábřeží v oblasti Rohanského ostrova.

16.12.2009 — Primátor hl. m. Prahy Pavel Bém včera odpoledne převzal z rukou Carla Capalba, předsedy organizačního výboru společnosti Prague International Marathon, repliku prestižního ocenění IAAF Road Race Gold Label, které bylo nedávno uděleno závodu Hervis 1/2Maraton Praha. Carl Capalbo tak poděkoval primátorovi hl. m. Prahy za pomoc při pořádání závodu.

28.4.2020 — The 29th of April has been the International Dance Day since 1982. The traditional meeting of dancers and dance fans usually takes place on Střelecký Island, where the event has a wide fan base. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's annual competition will be broadcast online from several locations in Prague. Nevertheless, the event will still connect the Czech dance scene with the public.

30.7.2020 — Prague City Gallery's Eco-Studio in the Troja Château Orangery is offering summer art workshops to the public that will run during July and August. The eco-studio is an ideal place for art-lovers and creative people to develop their skills and reflect on fine art in the beautiful surroundings of one of Prague's most sought-after tourist attractions. The full-day art workshops, which take place throughout the summer holidays, offer meaningful leisure activities in the form of creative work.

10.9.2003 — Již po sedmé se v Praze poběží za necelé dva týdny Mattoni Grand Prix - Prague International Marathon. Hlavní město je opět jedním z hlavních partnerů pořadatelů akce. Sportovní událost by měla podle očekávání představitelů magistrátu metropoli přinést nejen prestiž, ale také finanční prospěch.

11.11.2008 — Pražští radní, kteří v polovině září schválili vytvoření jednotné vizuální prezentace hl. m. Prahy na letišti Praha-Ruzyně, dnes souhlasili s pořadím vítězů vzešlých z výběrového řízení na vytvoření grafických návrhů. První tři místa jsou dotována finanční odměnou 200, 50 a 30 tisíc korun.

3.11.2022 — Zákonem č. 201/2012 Sb., o ochraně ovzduší, účinným od 1.9.2012, byla zavedena povinnost pro orgány ochrany ovzduší aktivně zpřístupňovat veřejnosti informace o podaných žádostech o závazná stanoviska a povolení provozu a o závazných stanoviscích a povoleních provozu vydaných na základě těchto žádostí. Průběžně aktualizovaný seznam žádostí evidovaných Odborem ochrany prostředí Magistrátu hlavního města Prahy.

3.11.2022 — Zákonem č. 201/2012 Sb., o ochraně ovzduší, účinným od 1.9.2012, byla zavedena povinnost pro orgány ochrany ovzduší aktivně zpřístupňovat veřejnosti informace o podaných žádostech o závazná stanoviska a povolení provozu a o závazných stanoviscích a povoleních provozu vydaných na základě těchto žádostí. 22.5.2014 — Po dvou letech intenzivních příprav byla Praha vyhlášena hostitelskou destinací pro 56. kongres Mezinárodní kongresové asociace (ICCA) v roce 2017. Praha zastoupená členy týmu Prague Convention Bureau, jmenovitě Sanjivem Suri (prezident PCB), Lenkou Žlebkovou (ředitelkou PCB) a Dagmar Brožovou (Association Meetings Manager PCB), a představiteli hlavního města Praha – primátorem hl.m. Prahy panem Tomášem Hudečkem a náměstkem primátora panem Václavem Novotným, se utkala s dvěma dalšími silnými kandidáty – polským Gdaňskem a ruským St. Petersburgem.

26.7.2017 — Digitální mapa přístupnosti budov a veřejných prostranství, kterou Praha představila loni v červnu, má nově svou anglickou mutaci. Přehledné informace o přístupnosti objektů z hlediska osob s omezenou schopností pohybu tak nově mohou na adrese PragueAccessibilityMap.eu využívat i zahraniční turisté.

17.7.2020 — The sixth annual film festival Das Sommerkino screens films from Germany, Austria and Switzerland during the summer holiday season. The screenings take place every Tuesday and Thursday in July, and every Monday and Wednesday in August. Das Sommerkino offers the best recent German language films with free admission. The films on the festival's programme were mostly successful at previous years of Das Filmfest, and won a number of prestigious international awards. The films which deal with current topics, insights into the recent past, as well as historical films will please cinema goers in Prague. Those who appreciate fine arts and architecture will also enjoy this year's programme. A total of 18 films will be screened, which will be a kind of preparation for the traditional autumn film festival Das Filmfest.

15.11.2019 — Five excellent pianists will take part in the seventh annual Rudolf Firkušný Piano Festival, which will take place between the 17th and the 23rd of November. This year, festival goers can once again look forward to an extraordinary music experience.

28.12.2019 — The Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague is hosting an exhibition of works by the iconic Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala until the 23rd of January. The exhibition is held in the museum's historical building in the city centre. The exhibition's curators are Uta Laurén and Jan Mergl.

29.6.2019 — This year, Prague Botanical Garden in Troja is celebrating its 50th anniversary. As part of the year-long celebrations, a new collection of wine, Cuvée Natalis, and a book about the vineyard, 'Vinice sv. Kláry 365', are now available to visitors.

31.1.2020 — Prague Botanical Garden in Troja has prepared a special experience for its visitors with late guided tours through the Fata Morgana greenhouse in the dark. This is a unique opportunity to see what the jungle looks like at night.

29.6.2020 — Střelecký Island ('Střelecký ostrov' or simply 'Střelák' to the locals) in the heart of Prague not only offers scenic views of Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, and romantic walks in the shade of mature trees, but has also become a place for free outdoor public dancing in recent years. Many dance programmes and workshops take place on a pontoon that has been anchored to the island for several years, offering an additional stage and dance floor. Dancing is a pleasant social activity, as well as a manifestation of emotions. It is an art form, which brings the pleasure of moving to music to everyone, both spectators and dancers, whether they dance alone, in pairs or in groups.

4.12.2019 — From the 5th to the 8th of December, Lucerna and Ponrepo cinemas in Prague will offer audiences a large selection of Asian action films full of martial arts during the new annual Filmasia festival. The festival is entering its fifteenth season this year. It has brought great Asian films to Prague since 2005.

31.12.2019 — On the 6th of January 2020, Igor Pomerancev, a Russian poet living in Prague, will introduce the poetry collection 'Amputace' ('Amputation') in the Václav Havel Library.

15.4.2019 — Wine lovers, listen! Wine tasting season is about to start! On the 27th of April, you can taste delicious wines from small wineries that have their own family traditions in the picturesque Ctěnice Chateau.

19.7.2019 — Do konce září bude v pražských ulicích kampaň zaměřená na pravidla, která musí turisté v hlavním městě dodržovat. Tu realizuje Prague City Tourism ve spolupráci s nočním starostou Janem Šternem a soustředí se na chování turistů v nejproblematičtějších lokalitách. V příštím roce na ni naváže dlouhodobá kampaň, která bude přesně zacílená na turisty díky výstupům z průzkumu agentury STEM/MARK o chování návštěvníků noční Prahy.

14.6.2010 — Česká tunelářská asociace ITA-AITES připravila již svou 11. mezinárodní konferenci Podzemní stavby Praha 2010, která se uskuteční v Praze od 14. do 16. června 2010 v Clarion Congress Hotelu Prague na Vysočanech. Na její přípravě se podílí také Slovenská tunelářská asociace a řada významných zahraničních odborníků, kteří přijali členství ve vědecké radě konference.

27.3.2008 — Jubilejní 15.ročník mezinárodní přehlídky filmu televize a videa začne dnes 27. března a potrvá až do 4. dubna. Bezprostřední vazba na hlavní město se od letošního roku odráží i v názvu festivalu. Mezinárodní filmový festival Praha/Prague International Film Festival je jednou z největších audiovizuálních akcí nejen v Praze, ale i v celé střední Evropě.

17.5.2005 — Pražští radní dnes schválili dvoumilionový dar, který věnují na pořádání již 11. ročníku Pražského mezinárodního maratonu.

18.11.2024 — V jedinečných prostorách Clam-Gallasova paláce na Starém Městě se letos uskuteční vánoční workshopy, adventní koncerty a další akce pro malé i velké návštěvníky.

22.3.2024 — Od soboty 23. března 2024 Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy (DPP) zahájí provoz historické tramvajové linky 41 a autobusové linky K. Obě budou v provozu o víkendech a státních svátcích do 17. listopadu 2024. Od stejného data, od soboty 23. března 2024 bude historická tramvajová linka 42, kterou společně provozují DPP a Prague City Tourism (PCT), opět jezdit každý den. Zájem turistů o ni roste. Za prvních 11 víkendů letošního roku na ní DPP a PCT prodaly dohromady téměř o 25 % více jízdenek než ve stejném období loňského roku.

7.9.2022 — Desítky vernisáží, výstav a doprovodných programů za účasti významných osobností z Česka i ze zahraničí. V Praze se od 9. do 15. září poprvé uskuteční mezinárodní festival umění Prague Art Week 22. Návštěvníky zve do více než pěti desítek galerií, muzeí, ale i sbírek umění a dalších uměleckých institucí. Festival se koná při příležitosti českého předsednictví v Radě Evropské unie.
