26.9.2019 — RefuFest is a festival that creates space for people from all over the world to meet and express solidarity with refugees. Discover other cultures thanks to music, dance, theatre and other forms of cultural expression. The festival will take place in Invalidovna in Karlín in Prague on the 27th and 28th of September, while Thursday the 27th of September is reserved for schools.

28.10.2020 — Prague Planetarium and the Štefánik Observatory commence another two-year course in astronomy. Those who complete the course successfully will have an opportunity to work in the Astronomy Club of the Štefánik Observatory. The two-year astronomical course has been held for over 50 years and offers the participants basic knowledge of modern astronomy along with knowledge of the night sky and the basics of working with astronomical instruments.

17.4.2020 — Due to the coronavirus crisis, the cultural scene has been forced to move online from theatres, clubs, museums and concert halls. A platform that brings online cultural content together has recently been created. The project, launched on the 12th of April, is called 'Kultura doma'('Culture at Home').

19.8.2019 — The exhibition, entitled 'Jenda Rajman's Camera' ('Fotoaparátem Jendy Rajmana'), that is on in Invalidovna, Prague, documents Czech participation on the Italian front during the First World War.

7.4.2020 — A nationwide project to support theatres, concert halls, clubs and artists has been launched. 'NIC' tickets have been on sale since the 1st of April. 'Nic' means 'nothing' in Czech and that is the aim of this project - as cultural events cannot take place, cultural institutions and artists need your support. According to Hana Třeštíková, Prague City Councillor for Culture, Czech people are inventive, so instead of simply asking for donations, they came up with a plan to sell tickets for 'non-existing' cultural events, which will (not) take place on the 1st of May.

29.3.2019 — Richard Wagner's opera 'Die Walküre' (The Valkyrie) is coming to Czech cinemas as part of 'The Met: Live in HD' series. In Prague, the opera will be screened on the 30th of March in the Aero and Světozor cinemas.

23.8.2019 — As in previous years, Čajomír Fest, the 11th annual international tea festival, will offer two days of tea tasting, food, workshops, children's activities, music, relaxation, pottery and much more. You can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the festival on the 24th and 25th of August at Vyšehrad.

23.8.2007 — Humanitární organizace Hand for Help, o.p.s Liberec se rozhodla poskytnout pomoc oblastem postiženým přírodní katastrofou, která svým dopadem předčí mimo jiné i katastrofální tsunami na Srí Lance, kde se humanitární pomoci účastnila i skupina vyslaná touto organizací. Ničivá povodeň do Asie přišla na den přesně 5 let poté, kdy i Čechy potkala tato hrůzná zkušenost. Pět let před tím obdobnou zkušenost učinily i města a obce a jejich obyvatelé na Moravě. O katastrofě v Indii a Bangladéši se v naší republice doposud moc nemluvilo, snad právě proto si zaslouží pozornost a nutnost pomoci potřebným.

30.4.2020 — One hundred and thirty animals from over forty species have been born in Prague Zoo since it closed on the 13th of March 2020. With other animals still giving birth, including the rare Malayan tapir, zookeepers are wondering when the public will get to see them.

27.10.2020 — Technická správa komunikací hl. m. Prahy (TSK) announced two public contracts for the restoration of Prague's Libeň Bridge, management of the construction and coordination of the entire project. The aim of the first contract is to select a supplier of the construction works and related design and engineering services. The selection process will be carried out in accordance with the FIDIC - Yellow Book conditions (Design & Build project type). The second public contract aims to find a suitable construction manager and project coordinator.

6.2.2019 — The inhabitants of Prague greatly appreciate the declining crime rate in the capital every year. This information is based on a survey requested by Prague City Hall, 'Safety Sensitivity Analysis' (Analýza pocitu bezpečí). The survey's results show that 90% inhabitants feel safe in their neighbourhood.

23.10.2020 — Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) will perform Smetana's 'Má vlast' ('My Country') in Obecní dům (Municipal House) for Independent Czechoslovak State Day on the 28th of October. There will be no audience, but the concert will be streamed via the Prague Symphony Orchestra's YouTube channel so it can be seen live all over the world.

14.2.2019 — Lovers of Nordic movies are certainly looking forward to this year's annual festival Nordic Film Winter. Running from the 14th to the 19th of February 2019, the festival will offer 26 movies from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Lithuania. For six of them, it will be their Czech premiere! All films are subtitled in English. The traditional feast Nordic and Baltic film production is coming to Czech and Moravian cinemas for the ninth time, with 22 cinemas from all over the country taking part in the event.

21.2.2024 — Komorní koncert Anny Paulové připravuje Symfonický orchestr hlavního města Prahy FOK dne 29. února 2024 od 19:30 hodin pro publikum v Anežském klášteře v Praze. Jde o další z cyklu FOK Cyklus a hudba a prostory kláštera při této příležitosti ozdobí obraz Františka Kupky "Klávesy piana. Jezero z roku" 1909. Tuto českou umělkyni doprovodí violistka Kristina Fialová a klavírista Martin Kasík. Zazní například skladba Kegelstatt trio od Wolfganga Amadea Mozarta či Sonatina od Bohuslava Martinů.

1.2.2019 — Over the course of the year, The City of Prague Museum is preparing a total of six exhibitions. These exhibitions will show Prague past, with interesting historical crafts, as well as present-day Prague, with photographs by a well-known photographer. The museum has permanent displays, such as the archaeological collection in the main building, which is the museum's biggest collection and mostly comes from the museum's archaeological research. Collections of applied art are also valuable, including a high-quality collection of graphics. The most valuable part of this collection is the vedute, which are views of Prague, including its squares, individual street, important buildings, emerging suburbs and natural surroundings outside the city's baroque fortifications. Visitors can also admire these views in Langweil's model of Prague, which contains more than 2,000 buildings on a 1:480 scale, with all the fine details of facades, courtyards, gardens and farm outhouses belonging to buildings. In the case of many demolished historical buildings, Langweil's model of Prague is the only physical record of their appearance.

1.9.2008 — Primátor hl.m. Prahy Pavel Bém dnes večer pronesl slavnostní projev na zahájení třetí výroční konference AMEE (Association for Medical Education in Europe) v Kongresovém centru Praha. AMEE je významná organizace, která sdružuje pedagogy a vědce z celého světa, kteří se věnují lékařskému vzdělávání a vzdělávání dalších zdravotnických profesí za účelem zlepšení jeho kvality a výměny zkušeností.

6.6.2013 — Nike zahájila registrace na třetí ročník závodu We Run Prague 2013. Jedná se o desetikilometrový běh centrem Prahy, který je určený pro běžecké nadšence i pro ty, kteří s během teprve začínají. Závod se uskuteční v sobotu 31. srpna, start bude v areálu Žlutých lázní. Trasa provede závodníky historickým centrem Prahy a po závodě pro ně bude připravena Afterparty.

22.8.2011 — Záštitu nad letošním ročníkem závodu Run-Up neboli během do schodů převzal náměstek primátora hlavního města Prahy Antonín Weinert. Arkády-Pankrác Run-Up 2011 se uskuteční v pátek 2. září.

2.2.2023 — První mládě luskouna, které přišlo na svět nejen v Zoo Praha, ale v celé Evropě, se narodilo 2. února 2023 před čtvrtou hodinou ráno. Váží 135 gramů a připomíná oživlou smrkovou šišku.

16.10.2014 — V neděli 19. října se v Praze uskuteční od 10.00 hodin do cca 12.40 hodin městský běh City Trail Run Prague 2014. Jeho trasa povede přes Veletržní ulici v místě křižovatky s Oveneckou ulicí, kde bude v době od 10.00 hodin do cca 11.00 hodin omezen provoz.

13.7.2007 — Pochodeň Běhu harmonie (World Harmony Run) dnes na pražské radnici převzala náměstkyně primátora Markéta Reedová. Symbolický oheň přátelství a harmonie mezi všemi národy světa k nám dorazil z Německa a dále míří do Polska.

22.11.2019 — V sobotu 14. prosince 2019 se uskuteční čtvrtý ročník charitativního vánočního zážitkového běhu v centru Prahy - Christmas Night Run. Jde o závod na 5 km se startem i cílem před Rudolfinem na Palachově náměstí, běžet mohou jednotlivci i týmy, opět je připraven zvláštní závod pro děti.

11.7.2007 — Nejdelší štafetový běh na světě, World Harmony Run (Světový běh harmonie), zavítá v pátek 13. července 2007 do Prahy. Symbolickou hořící pochodeň si každoročně předá přes milión lidí z celého světa. Trasa vede více než osmdesáti zeměmi. Mezi těmi, kdo pochodeň ponesou, bude letos kromě dalších osobností i náměstkyně pražského primátora Markéta Reedová.

31.1.2024 — Prvnímu v Evropě odchovanému mláděti luskouna bude 2. února jeden rok. Šiška se má čile k světu, váží už přes tři kilogramy a denně spořádá zhruba dvě třetiny krmné dávky svých rodičů. Zoo Praha přichystala na víkend mimořádný program. V sobotu i neděli se u expozice luskounů krátkoocasých v nokturnu Indonéské džungle uskuteční speciální setkání v 9:30 hodin a narozeninové komentované krmení v 15:30 hodin.

20.1.2010 — Hlavní město Praha, Česká televize, Český rozhlas Regina a Člověk v tísni pořádají humanitární koncert na pomoc obětem zemětřesení na Haiti.Na koncertu 21. ledna 2010 od 13.00 do 21.00 hodin na Staroměstském náměstí vystoupí více než 30 interpretů a významných hostů.
