20.1.2017 — Praha ve spolupráci se společností Rozvojové projekty Praha, a. s., vyhlašuje architektonickou soutěž na úpravu vstupního prostoru do areálu Výstaviště. Soutěžit se bude o návrh dvou nových vstupních bran, ale i úprav přilehlých veřejných prostranství. Vítězný návrh bude znám ještě na jaře, k realizaci by se pak mohlo přistoupit již v roce 2018. Cílem je navrátit Výstavišti důstojnost, kterou si jako celoměstsky významný areál zaslouží, otevřít jej veřejnosti a lépe ho propojit s celou čtvrtí. Soutěž zaštiťuje Institut plánování a rozvoje hl. m. Prahy (IPR).

31.1.2019 — The National Museum in Prague has one of the largest paleontological collections in Europe. Now, the collection has expanded with even more specimens. For last year's 200th anniversary, the Museum received a unique gift - a collection of fossils of Tertiary flora and fauna.

15.1.2019 — Until the 24th of February 2019, you can visit an unusual exhibition of audiovisual works by the gifted young artist Roman Štětina in Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace, one of the exceptional Baroque mansions in the Old Town. Roman Štětina has been focused on radio since the beginning of his career. In this exhibition, created in cooperation with fashion designer Mia Jadrná, he highlights the gradual disappearance of audio technology and the hidden art of radio professionals. His main interest lies in what precedes encounters with broadcasted sound - what exists in the "foreword."

13.2.2017 — Prague is the traditional centre of the Czech film industry and a favourite destination for foreign film crews. By founding the Prague Audiovisual Fund, the city wants to actively support the presentation of the City of Prague abroad through film and television productions.

29.1.2019 — Skipark Prague in Vypich, a popular cross-country skiing system with artificial snow, is open to the public from the 25th of January 2019. It is available for free for all cross-country enthusiasts from 8am to 9pm daily, as long as favourable climatic conditions last.

6.1.2019 — The extensive graphic collection Passion and Guilt by the famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso are on exhibit in Museum Kampa until the 15th of January 2019. The works, which were created in the 1930s, are on loan from the renowned Museo Reina Sofía (Queen Sofía Museum) in Madrid, Spain. They can be seen in the Czech Republic for the first time ever. The cycle is a collection of one hundred works that the artist compared to a diary, reflecting on his extraordinary life story.

4.1.2019 — On Sunday, the 6th of January 2019, the Epiphany, you will have the opportunity to witness a special procession of the Three Wise Men (the Three Kings) on camels in the streets of the Czech Capital. The parade will proceed from Malostranské náměstí via Karlův most (Charles Bridge) to the Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square), where the Jakub Jan Ryba's 'Czech Christmas Mass' (Česká mše vánoční) will be played and sung, concluding the procession and the Christmas season.

22.4.2008 — Rada hlavního města Prahy schválila přidělení finančních prostředků v celkové výši 5 520 000 korun na podporu sportovních akcí v roce 2008. Hlavní město Praha na tyto akce přispívá a podporuje je v rámci partnerství při jejich pořádání.

7.9.2021 — Praha bude rozvíjet inovace ve vzdělávání na základních a středních školách na území hlavního města. Jde například o výuku žáků s odlišným mateřským jazykem či speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami, podporu odborných škol v oblasti kariérového poradenství, podnikavosti a polytechniky či ředitelskou akademii. Aktivity budou součástí rozsáhlého dvouletého projektu s názvem implementace Krajského akčního plánu II - Inovace ve vzdělávání (iKAP II - Inovace). Právě inovace zamýšlené v projektu iKAP II napřímo podpoří učitele a ředitele škol. Pracuje na nich tým odborníků z Pražského inovačního institutu. Projekt byl schválen Radou hl. města Prahy.

31.10.2019 — The 6th annual Aussie & Kiwi Film Fest introduces lesser-known cinematography from Australia and New Zealand to audiences in Prague. Aussie is an English slang term for Australians, and Kiwi is slang for New Zealanders. The festival takes place from the 1st to the 6th of November in Lucerna, Atlas and Ponrepo cinemas.

29.4.2022 — Velká města se dlouhodobě potýkají s růstem automobilové dopravy. Nejinak je tomu v Praze. Zajistit řidičům hladký průjezd městem je proto stále větší výzvou. Řešením je kromě intenzivních investic do dopravní infrastruktury také řízení dopravy na základě dat a chytrých technologií. Hlavní město a jeho organizace proto už teď pro řízení dopravy využívají data z městských platforem Golemio a Pragozor, navigačních aplikací nebo monitorují dopravu pomocí senzorů a lokačních zařízení. Pracuje také s počítačovým modelováním dopravních situací.

15.5.2019 — From the 17th to the 23rd of May 2019, Losers Cirque Company's Open Air Festival is taking place at Vyšehrad. Over the course of seven evenings, audiences will enjoy a varied programme prepared especially for this festival. In addition to the Losers' new circus, festival goers can look forward to great musicians and a beatboxer.

16.1.2004 — Primátor hl. m. Prahy MUDr. Pavel Bém 15. 1. v 10:00 hodin odhalením ukázkové sochy zahájil tiskovou konferenci představující projet CowParade Prague 2004

18.4.2011 — Primátor Bohuslav Svoboda pronesl úvodní slovo ve Valdštejnské zahradě při zahájení akce „Kulturou proti antisemitismu,“ kterou pořádá Česká pobočka Mezinárodního křesťanského velvyslanectví Jeruzalém (ICEJ) a jíž primátor poskytl svou záštitu. Akce navázala na performanci „Pochod dobré vůle,“ který účastníci zahájili na Staroměstském náměstí.

27.4.2022 — Muzeum paměti XX. století společně s Museem Kampa - Nadací Jana a Medy Mládkových připravilo exteriérovou výstavu nazvanou Králové Majálesů s podtitulem Studentské slavnosti v Československu 1945 - 1990. Výstava bude zahájena v pátek 29. dubna v 19 hodin v parku Kampa mezi budovou Musea Kampa a Werichovou vilou a potrvá až do 27. července 2022. Jejím hlavním tématem je majálesová tradice a její proměny se zaměřením na období po druhé světové válce.

30.6.2020 — Fans of new circus will be pleased to hear that Letní Letná, the popular new circus festival, will take place this year after all, and only part of the programme will be postponed until next year. The 17th annual Letní Letná festival will take place from the 18th to the 25th of August in Letenské sady in Prague. Unfortunately, the programme will not be the same, but it is still well worth a visit!

24.3.2019 — In the 'Mytologická chodba' (Mythological Corridor) of the 'Valdštejnský palác' (Wallenstein Palace), which is the seat of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, there is a unique exhibition of gifts that Senators have received from foreign delegations over the past twenty years. Gift exchanges are a traditional part of meetings of state officials with delegations from abroad. This diplomatic protocol was applied in Antiquity and its first written record is from the Congress of Vienna in 1815.

29.12.2018 — The prestigious international youth ice hockey tournament O Vánoční puk will be played in Tipsport Arena in Holešovice from the 27th of December to the 29th of December. This event is funded by the charity Nadace HCS.

11.3.2019 — From the 15th to the 21st of March 2019, yoga enthusiasts from all over the world will gather in Prague to take part in the 9th Prague Spirit Festival. 'Novoměstská radnice' (The New Town Hall) hosts the main events. Yoga is about life, reality, pleasures and doubts. The motto of this year's annual festival, the first of its kind in the Czech Republic, is "You are not alone".

4.9.2024 — Narozeninová sezóna Symfonického orchestru hl. m. Prahy FOK bude slavnostně zahájena 18. a 19. září ve Smetanově síni Obecního domu. Pražští symfonikové uvedou pod vedením šéfdirigenta orchestru Tomáše Braunera dílo, které si žádá orchestr i sbor nevídaných rozměrů – Symfonii tisíců Gustava Mahlera. Představí se v ní osm pěveckých sólistů.

8.7.2020 — Mayors of the capitals of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries have signed an open letter to the European Council. In it, they call for financial support, declaring their commitment to approach the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity to seek smart solutions that improve quality of life and to overcome the challenges of climate change.
