9.12.2019 — Radní pro kulturu a památkovou péči Hana Třeštíková připravila Pravidla označování provozoven, které pomohou zredukovat vizuální smog v Pražské památkové rezervaci. Nová pravidla budou závazná pro všechny objekty v majetku města. Praha chce vlastními pravidly doplnit legislativu, která některé typy rušivé reklamy neumí ošetřit.

19.8.2024 — Tradiční předehrou k sezónám Pražských symfoniků je volně přístupný open air koncert ve Valdštejnské zahradě. Ten letošní se koná ve středu 28. srpna od 17 hodin. Před vstupem do jubilejní 90. sezóny je program opravdu slavnostní; při příležitosti Roku české hudby zazní díla Bedřicha Smetany, Antonína Dvořáka a Leoše Janáčka, posluchači se však mohou těšit i na árie z oper zahraničních skladatelů a také hudbu z filmů Angelika, Forrest Gump, Anděl Páně 2 a Arabela. 14.9.2007 — At last the Charles Bridge renovation finally started, it has been planned since 1991. Its completion date is 11th June 2010 and the repairs should prevent water leakage and improve the infrastructure of the bridge and its access roads. Repair works cost more than 222 million crowns and doesn't concern the stone bridge's antique patina as this will be repaired in 10 years time.

18.1.2019 — Prague Zoo is one of the best zoos in the world, and was ranked fifth-best internationally last year. The zoo's breeding programmes have been successful - 1340 animals were born here in the last year. New species of animals have been introduced to the zoo, including the Etruscan shrew, the smallest mammal in the world. This insectivore, which is between 3 and 5 centimetres long excluding the tail and has an average body mass of 1.8 grams, is to be found from the end of the summer in the pavilion 'African House'.

25.7.2019 — The historical centre of Prague is hosting the international triathlon Ford Challenge Prague for the third year. This sporting event, which will take place on the 27th of July, is unforgettable for the athletes, as well as for fans and whole families.

13.3.2020 — On Thursday, March 12, the Czech government approved the announcement of an emergency situation throughout the Czech Republic. Emergency is declared for 30 days. Since March 16, Czech government declared ban on traveling abroad and entry of foreigners into the Czech Republic from all around the world. The measures are in effect until further notice. 9.1.2020 — Explore the St. Petersburg Museum of Art and its three million artworks with the documentary 'Hermitage: The Power of Art'. The film will be screened on the 11th, the 12th, the 14th, and the 17th of January in the Světozor Cinema, as part of the 'Umění v kině' ('Art in Cinema') series.

6.8.2020 — The 25th International Organ Festival will take place from the 6th of August to the 24th of September in the Basilica of St. James the Greater in Prague's Old Town. Festival goers will have the opportunity to enjoy solo organ recitals by leading Czech and international organists.

29.12.2019 — The city of Prague will welcome the year 2020 with a New Year's projection mapping called 'MY, PRAHA' ('WE, PRAGUE'), which will light up the National Museum's historic building on Wenceslas Square. Both the residents of Prague and visitors to the Czech capital will have the opportunity to see this relatively new form of spatial art on the 1st of January 2020 at 6:15pm, 7:15pm and 8:15pm.

19.6.2019 — There will be over 40 unique concerts at the fourth annual pop and rock Metronome Festival Prague. The festival will take place on the 21st and 22nd of June in Prague Exhibition Grounds and this year's programme will once again be filled with music stars, both from the Czech Republic and abroad. 26.2.2019 — Český svaz tělesně postižených sportovců (ČSTPS) za podpory hlavního města Prahy ocenil desítku nejhodnotnějších výkonů roku 2018. Mezi oceněnými nechybí medailisté z paralympijských her v Rio de Janeiro včetně jediného zlatého medailisty - plavce Arnošta Petráčka - a bronzového medailisty ze stolního tenisu Jiřího Suchánka. Ocenění předali primátor hl. m. Prahy Zdeněk Hřib, který nad slavnostním večerem převzal záštitu, hudebník Ivan Hlas a paralympijský vítěz v pětiboji z Barcelony 1992 Vojtěch Vašíček.

29.6.2020 — Střelecký Island ('Střelecký ostrov' or simply 'Střelák' to the locals) in the heart of Prague not only offers scenic views of Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, and romantic walks in the shade of mature trees, but has also become a place for free outdoor public dancing in recent years. Many dance programmes and workshops take place on a pontoon that has been anchored to the island for several years, offering an additional stage and dance floor. Dancing is a pleasant social activity, as well as a manifestation of emotions. It is an art form, which brings the pleasure of moving to music to everyone, both spectators and dancers, whether they dance alone, in pairs or in groups.

15.7.2020 — The mayors of the V4 capitals have signed an open letter to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in which they extended their congratulations to Germany's Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Mayors have also expressed their commitment to the European Green Deal and the need for significantly increased direct green urban funding in the EU's next Multiannual Financial Framework.

4.12.2019 — From the 5th to the 8th of December, Lucerna and Ponrepo cinemas in Prague will offer audiences a large selection of Asian action films full of martial arts during the new annual Filmasia festival. The festival is entering its fifteenth season this year. It has brought great Asian films to Prague since 2005.

30.11.2018 — Hlavní město Praha zvítězilo ve druhém ročníku národní soutěže Chytrá města pro budoucnost celkem ve třech kategoriích. Projekty města navíc zcela dominovaly soutěži, která oceňuje řešení přispívající k rozvoji konceptu chytrých měst v České republice.
