15.7.2020 — The mayors of the V4 capitals have signed an open letter to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in which they extended their congratulations to Germany's Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Mayors have also expressed their commitment to the European Green Deal and the need for significantly increased direct green urban funding in the EU's next Multiannual Financial Framework.

Prague Zoo is the only zoo that breeds rare Texas tortoise in Europe

18.8.2020 — The vulnerable Texas tortoise is a species of tortoise in the Testudinidae family, and one of six species of tortoises in the Gopherus genus, commonly referred to as gopher tortoises. They are native to North America, in southern US and northern Mexico. Prague Zoo, which is the only zoo in Europe that successfully breeds this species, celebrated the birth of a new hatchling in the second half of July. Texas tortoises inhabit deep burrows, which they dig with their strong claws and flattened front legs. However, they prefer to use pre-dug mammal burrows. Prague Zoo has kept a group of these interesting tortoises in the Sonora exhibit in the Pavilion of Beasts and Reptiles since 2007. The first hatchlings were born in 2010.

Czech and international new circus stars are coming to Letní Letná

29.2.2020 — Prague Conservatory invites you to an incredible musical experience on the 2nd of March, when you will get the chance to enjoy the composer Camille Saint-Saëns's works in their representative hall. Students of the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) organised the concert. They formed the orchestra and they will present three instrumental compositions by the French master.

31.10.2020 — 'Dvě tváře Prahy', meaning Two Faces of Prague, is a competition in which the participating photographers capture either the positive or the negative aspects of Prague. An outdoor exhibition of 23 winning photographs on large panels can be seen until the 5th of November in the pedestrian zone of Na Příkopě Street. The theme of 'Dvě tváře Prahy 2020' was Wenceslas Square and the surrounding area, and all types of photographers took part: adults, young people, children, keen amateurs and professionals. A total of 720 images were sent to the competition, the most in its eleven-year history.

Páternoster na Nové radnici je zpřístupněn v rámci nového turistického okruhu

11.5.2004 — Rada hl. m. Prahy dnes schválila přijetí finančního daru ve výši 8 236 Kč, určeného na opravu Karlova mostu, od společnosti MIKI TRAVEL PRAGUE, s.r.o.

Nárůst turistů v prvním kvartálu 2016 ovlivnily také brzké Velikonoce

11.5.2016 — V prvních třech měsících roku navštívilo Prahu 1 288 136 domácích a zahraničních turistů. Téměř 14% nárůst oproti prvnímu kvartálu předešlého roku je podle Prague City Tourism ovlivněn také velikonočními svátky, které jsou faktickým začátkem turistické sezóny a které do české metropole přilákaly kolem 200 000 hostů. Nejvíc turistů tedy přijelo v březnu, výrazný nárůst klientů však ubytovatelé zaznamenali i v únoru.
